Enjoy the Harbor with a Convenient Dinghy Slip
As a valued CSC member, you have access to our private dock slips. Docking your dinghy safely and conveniently right here at the club makes accessing the harbor, ocean, and nearby beaches a breeze.
How Our Dinghy Slip Waitlist Works
Our slips are very popular! To ensure fairness and prioritize our dedicated, long-standing members, we manage a transparent waitlist.
- For Members Only: This benefit and its corresponding waitlist are exclusively for active CSC members.
- Stay Active to Stay on the List: Consistent membership is key. You must renew your membership every year without a lapse to maintain your current position on the list.
- The Process: We contact the member at the very top of the list as soon as a slip becomes available.
- Transparency: You can always view the current, publicly posted waiting list on our website. We update this list regularly; the date shown indicates the last time it was revised.
Dinghy Slip Availability & Fees
Slip availability fluctuates from year to year, as it is dependent on our members' renewal trends. On average, only a limited number of spaces become available each season.
To rent a dock slip, members are required to pay the following fees:
- Annual Slip Rental Fee
- Annual CSC Membership
- Associated Harbor Fees
Renewal & Assignment Procedure
For existing slip renters, your slip will be reserved for you provided you meet the following requirements:
- Maintain Membership: You must remain a member in good standing.
- Renew Annually: You must re-register and submit your slip rental and associated fees during the designated renewal period, from January 1 to April 30 at 11:59 p.m.
- Late Payments: If payment is not received by the deadline, the slip will be offered to the next eligible member on the waiting list.
Slip Assignment and Management
Slip numbers and positions are assigned by the
Dock Slip Coordinator. Some outer slips offer more convenient access than inner spaces. To ensure the best fit for our members, the club reserves the right to reassign or shift existing slip renters to more favorable locations as they become available.
By applying for or accepting a slip, members agree to the club's assignment decisions. The Cohasset Sailing Club holds final authority over all slip assignments and availability. While we strive for fairness, our policies are subject to change to best manage our club's assets and member needs.
Dinghy Requirements & Restrictions
To ensure the safety and optimal use of our dock space, all dinghies must adhere to the following guidelines:
- Dimensions: Your dinghy must not exceed 12 feet in length and 5 feet 6 inches in beam. Oversized vessels will be removed from the docks.
- Materials: We kindly request that you do not use aluminum dinghies.
- Engine Covers: To protect both your equipment and the dock, all engines must be covered when in the upright position. Our staff will lower any uncovered engines found in the upright position.
