The adult sailing program is for Cohasset residents who are at least 18 years old. The class meets at the sailing club for three hours, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM, on consecutive Saturday mornings during the sailing season. It offers a combination of shore and on the water instruction through a well-organized and thorough curriculum. A basics-level class can cover rigging, points of sail, docking, rules of the road. By the time a new sailor completes the course, he or she should feel confident sailing outside of the harbor. Intermediate and Advanced classes can include navigation, weaving through a boat fleet or race starting and tacking strategies just to name a few topics.

You must be able to swim 100 meters and tread water for 10 minutes without help.  You will be asked to confirm this in the registration process.  

Every participant needs a USCG certified PDF (personal flotation device)  and closed toed shoes for each class.

Private Lessons
CSC offers private lessons to our adult members during sailing season; end of June to mid August. If you've never sailed before we recommend taking the 8 week Adult Sailing Class offered each Saturday morning of the season.
Contact us through the website and someone will help facilitate the lesson using our club sail boats.
Payment can be made through the website with a CC once the lesson is scheduled. CSC also accepts checks.
